Use of the JOAPP mobile application

Identity of the Data Controller

The Jumbo Car brand brings together several legally distinct companies engaged in vehicle rental activities and related services.

Depending on the territory concerned and the channel used (website, mobile application, customer service), the data controller of your personal data collected by the Joapp service is one of the following companies:

  • LOCATION AUTOMOBILE CARAÏBE
  • BAMYLOC
  • EUROLOCATION
  • RUNCAR

These companies may act:

  • either as independent data controllers, for processing activities relating to their own operations;
  • or, where applicable, as joint data controllers, when the purposes and means of the processing are jointly determined, in particular in the context of operating the Jumbo Car brand, its websites and its mobile applications.

Throughout this policy, the term “Jumbo Car” refers interchangeably to one or more of these companies, depending on the context and the service concerned.

Use of the Joapp application service

As part of the provision of certain services, the companies operating under the Jumbo Car brand (LOCATION AUTOMOBILE CARAÏBE, BAMYLOC, EUROLOCATION and RUNCAR) use an application service called Joapp, which is accessible in particular via a mobile application.

The use of the Joapp service may result in the collection and processing of personal data strictly necessary for its operation, the provision of the services offered, customer relationship management, and the improvement of the user experience.

Depending on the territory concerned and the service used, the relevant Jumbo Car company acts as the data controller.

The data that may be processed via the Joapp service may include, depending on the features used:

  • identification data (last name, first name, email address, phone number);
  • data related to the use of the service (technical logs, connection data, information relating to the device and operating system);
  • any information necessary for providing the functionalities offered by the service.

These processing activities are carried out:

  • on the basis of the performance of the contract binding the user to the relevant Jumbo Car company;
  • and/or on the basis of your consent, where required by applicable regulations.

The Joapp service is provided by a third-party technical service provider acting as a data processor, within the meaning of the applicable personal data protection regulations. This provider acts solely on the instructions of the relevant Jumbo Car company and undertakes to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security, confidentiality, and integrity of the personal data processed.

Data processed via the Joapp service are neither sold nor used for the service provider’s own commercial purposes.

The data are hosted and processed in compliance with applicable European regulations. In the event of data transfers outside the European Union, appropriate safeguards are implemented in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR.

Users of the Joapp service have the same rights as those described in Article 4 of this policy, which they may exercise under the conditions specified below.
